Installation instructions:
Mid-Roller Cap Installation
Remove OEM cap and allow oil to completely drain.
Place o-ring (K JD240S7-ROR) on cap. To prevent possible oil leakage from o-ring, (it is recommended to apply JD part #PM11655866; Permatex non-hardening gasket sealant Part #81160; Loctite non-hardening Gasket Sealant #2; or equivalent products) silicone compound to o-ring/cap area and install. NOTE: in some cases threads were not taped deep enough causing caps to not make contact with the roller face. More washers or shorter bolts will correct this issue.
Secure with OEM bolts (torque bolts to 75-85 inch lbs).
Replace lubricant in hub to manufacturer's specifications.
Install plug and tighten with plug wrench.
Idler Cap Installation:
Remove OEM Cap and allow oil to completely drain.
Clean threads and o-ring groove. Place o-ring (K JD159-IOR) on Clear View® Cap making sure it is seated to the flange of the cap.
To prevent possible oil leakage from o-ring, it is recommended to apply (it is recommended to apply JD part #PM11655866; Permatex non-hardening gasket sealant Part #81160; Loctite non-hardening Gasket Sealant #2; or equivalent products) silicon compound to o-ring/cap area and install.
When installing onto the hub, make sure the cap is being turned on straight and not cross threaded.
When the o-ring starts to contact the hub watch that the o-ring enters the hub grove and seats properly.
When the flange contacts the hub the cap is installed.
Replace lubricant in hub to mfg specifications.
Install plug and tighten with plug wrench.
NOTE After all hubs have been filled, be sure caps have sealed.
Use only soap and water to clean caps, no solvents (solvents can cause clouding and premature failure of caps. Solvent use will void warranty) (cite)
